Gambling on dry land is illegal in South Carolina, but fans of blackjack can still board one of two cruise ships and head onto the water for a little fun. Basically, you board the boat and gamble for a few hours, then it returns to port and takes on another load of passengers. These two ships serve an estimated 275,000 passengers per year.
Unfortunately, in June of 2007, the local city council voted that all casino boats must leave within five years. Hopefully this will change (or the ships will find another location in the state), but you'd better enjoy them while you can.
