The Hi-Opt II blackjack card counting system was originally created by Lance Humble in 1976 and was explained in his book, The World's Greatest Blackjack Book. In the 1970's, the Hi Opt 2 was considered the most powerful and accurate card counting system available.
The point values are distributed as per the table below:
2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 | 10 | A |
+1 | +1 | +2 | +2 | +1 | +1 | 0 | 0 | -2 | 0 |
The Hi-Opt II systems is a multi level card counting system and is correspondingly more difficult to learn, since different cards are given different values.
To make this system even more difficult to use, a side count of 8's, 9's, and aces is kept.
Hi-Opt is an abbreviation of "highly optimum".
